In 1976, he joined Twentieth Century Fox as Vice President Network Sales. He subsequently became President of Twentieth Century Fox Television and was responsible for the production and worldwide distribution of all network and syndicated programming. In 1986 Barry became President, and in June 1995, Chairman of Turner Program

Services, the television distribution company for Turner Broadcasting. His responsibilities included the worldwide marketing and distribution of all Turner Broadcasting System programming, including the MGM film and television library;  first-run productions such as National Geographic and Cousteau Society specials; CNN Television and other programs like “The Wonder Years” and “The Lazarus Man.” He supervised the TPS staff at Atlanta headquarters as well as the four domestic and seven international offices. As a result of the merger between Time Warner and Turner, he worked as a senior executive at Warner Brothe
rs Television.

First Class Talent Agency

Cynthia Barry is one of the two original founding partners and agents with First Class Talent Agency (FCTA). Cynthia is from Orange County, CA, where her parents still live. She had a solid business mind and entrepreneurial spirit from a very early age. In her teen years, while attending Huntington Beach High School, Cynthia was a singer in a Christian rock band. The band performed and toured for four years and was very successful with several songs on Maranatha! Music label. The band eventually broke up and Cynthia switched gears to attend Brooks College. After graduating Cynthia went into the fashion business. She eventually started her own clothing line which became very successful, with over 2 million in sales per year for multiple years. Her designs could be seen in almost every store in every mall across the US. She was the sole owner with more than 30 employees plus office staff.

In 1991 Cynthia married Russell Barry, then President of Turner Program Services. Previous positions held by Russ were President of Twentieth Century Fox Television and Vice President, General Manager at KCBS Television. In 1995 Russ became Chairman at Turner, and that same year their daughter Shannon was born. Inspired by Shannon, Cynthia started to photograph children and babies. She negotiated an arrangement with Nordstrom stores, photographing children and families at store locations all over Southern California. She photographed in black and white film capturing beautiful timeless images of children and families. This business lasted 10 years until digital cameras essentially phased out film and photography as art became a tough sell.

From there, headshots were a natural transition, and that’s where she met and worked with many agents and their clients. She liked working with actors. In addition, her daughter Shannon started auditioning for commercial, TV and film while signed with an agent. Taking Shannon to auditions, classes and workshops gave Cynthia insight from both actors’ and parents’ points of view. She always thought it would be a fun venture to start her own agency, and in 2010 that dream became a reality when she and long-time friend Sandy Hunter opened First Class Talent Agency. Their goal was to keep a hands-on approach with a boutique size agency to be able to give actors personal attention and development, and they feel that goal has been successfully accomplished. Cynthia currently submits talent theatrically and commercially and also oversees the FCTA operations.

Cynthia’s husband Russ is retired from TV and consulting for FCTA, so he is able to bring his wealth of knowledge to the agency… when he’s not playing golf, that is! Shannon is now in college and has her hands full with dual majors in Classical Voice and Bio- Chemistry, leavingCynthia plenty of time to pursue her passion of helping actors achieve their goals!

First Class Talent Agency

Sandy Hunter is one of the two original founding partners and agents with First Class Talent Agency. Sandy grew up on a farm in central California, and the nearest neighbor was over a mile away. Life on the farm kept Sandy very active physically, taking care of the animals, picking cotton, and riding horses. There was one television in the house that received 3 channels only, so she never bothered to watch television until she was in her late 20’s, when she moved to Los Angeles as a single mom of four. Wow did things change!

Los Angeles opened up a new world of opportunity. Sandy’s children became involved in the entertainment industry, and Sandy went from never watching television to being on many television sets! Her kids were very busy and successful young actors with combined over 50 principal roles on television, film, and commercials. Sandy’s oldest daughter had a recurring role on daytime television. Sandy opened her own flower shop business in 1989 which gave her the freedom and flexibility help her kids follow their dreams. All of the kids finished school and transitioned successfully into adulthood.

In early 2000 Sandy closed her shop and began selling real estate, but she always had a special place in her heart for the entertainment business. Nine years later she her dearest friend Cynthia Barry decided to become agents and open a talent agency. Sandy worked side by side with Cynthia developing First Class Talent Agency and enjoying every minute of it. Sandy's current focus is new talent recruitment and submissions both commercially and theatrically.
