Marvin Winans Jr.

As a kid growing up in a big music family in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, Marvin had the odd dream of being an actor on TV shows. Having a knack for acting, the only two things that seemed to stand in his way were a couple of thousand of miles and someone who had any idea of how to help him!

His creative pursuits led him into the family’s music tradition and at the age of 19 he was in LA, not for acting, but as a Grammy nominated music artist with his singing group, Winans Phase 2. Performances to crowds as large as 50,000 and hundreds of thousands of album sales later, Marvin, his wife, Monique and 1 1/2 year old son, Marvin III, affectionately, known as “Three,” made the move to Los Angeles for good.

As an accomplished film producer now, Marvin guides his family of six, including four young children through their budding and successful film/TV and commercial careers. As a family they have had over 50 commercial bookings and multiple co-star, guest star, re-occurring and now series regular roles on streamers and networks including: ABC, Disney+ and Netflix.

The success of his family’s film/TV careers all began after meeting Sandy and Cynthia with First Class Talent Agency. Having been with other representation prior to 2020, they had not been given any commercial or television opportunities. Things immediately changed upon joining FCTA as they began auditioning for the country’s biggest brands, top studios and the largest networks, often.

What he loves most about FCTA are the people and how they care for their clients. No question is too dumb, clients aren’t made to feel like they are a bother and if they have values that run outside of the mainstream, that’s okay with FCTA. They are patient and helpful to newcomers. It’s a lovefest at FCTA and he is honored to have the opportunity to expand its family-natured services to those in LA and the Southeast regions of the country.
